Who we are

Benvenuti alla Società Italiana di Cheltenham! The Cheltenham Italian Society is for all who love Italy - its culture, history, language, and people.

We meet monthly (except in the Summer) with an exciting programme of speakers and events, covering many aspects of Italian life and culture.

The Italian Society was founded in 1959 by the late Miss Anne Maude MacIntyre Macrae, who in pre-war years had been Secretary to the British Consul in Genoa.

The  Society currently meets at St. Andrew's Church in Montpellier. The meetings are usually monthly, on a Monday, between October and May. Details are confirmed before each event, but meetings usually begin at 7pm (6.30 for 7pm start) and aim to be of 90 minutes duration.
