FilmChelt Festival

Who we are

FilmChelt is an independent, charity-run film festival driven by a team of passionate volunteers, bringing an exciting programme of films and events to the heart of Cheltenham. The FilmChelt team brings together a wealth of experience and a shared passion for film programming, filmmaking, and all things cinema.

FilmChelt not only gives film lovers the chance to enjoy outstanding films before their general release, but also to discover films that go on to sweep industry awards. Programming is a fine art, and the team's aim is to offer an eclectic programme, taking in diverse voices,  timeless classics and  exciting new releases.

FilmCheltAcademy, which runs throughout the year, nurtures young talent in the film industry, enabling the next generation to take their first steps towards a successful career in film making.

Don't miss our annual film music concert - Echoes of the Oscars, a tribute to Oscar winning and nominated scores. In addition to the annual festival, FilmChelt hosts screenings during the year at unexpected venues across Cheltenham. Keep an eye out for the popular FilmChelt Cinerama series!

The Festival returns this autumn with another exciting programme of films, guest speakers and events, giving film lovers the chance to be the first to enjoy some of the upcoming year's biggest films and the wonderful atmosphere of a film festival in Cheltenham.

2026 dates are Friday 30th October to Sunday 8th November.
